Factors that Influences Colourism
This practice is a product of racism and classes in coloured societies, as it upholds the eurocentric standards of beauty and the connotative meaning that is attached to individuals of a darker hue which is the association of darker hues belonging to or representing the lower class in society and is susceptible in being marginalized in institutions of oppression (media, medical world, etc.).
